Good Morning Class: I have listed today's learning assignments below. Tomorrow will be “Catch Up” day. If you experience any trouble, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or my cell phone. Please login into SeeSaw to complete assignments as well. Today’s Specials is: Your choice Thursday – Science Lab. Offline Assignments: Phonics: Create flashcards using paper or index cards for the following words: quit, kin, ax, lox. Then practice blending these words. (Use arm strategy taught in class as needed.) Have student point to the word quit. Ask them to sound out the word with you. Then ask them to say the word at regular speed. Repeat with the words kin, ax, and lox. Then have students sound out the words in random order. (I have attached printable phonics word flashcards for those with access to a printer)
Sight words: Using the following sight words: draw, count, color, use. Place sight word cards in a box. Have students draw a card, read the word, and use paper to write the word in a sentence. Upload your sentences to Dojo or Seesaw if possible. (I have attached printable sight word flashcards for those with access to a printer)
Reading: Go to Reading A to Z. Read for 20 minutes. The following link is different from the Headsprout account. There are no episodes, students can choose books on their reading level to read. Have student edit their writing piece from yesterday. Students should ask themselves the follow questions when editing their writing: Did I leave spaces between words? Did I make pictures that help with the words? Did I label my pictures/illustrations? Did I write a letter for each sound? Did I use CAPITAL letters to start sentences? Did I put a period at the end of every sentence? If student has completed the editing process of their previous writing piece. Click on the link below, choose an animal to learn about. Then have the student write a piece teaching others about their chosen animal. Students should draw a picture of the animal and then write at least two facts teaching others about the animal they chose. Math: Warmup Practice counting to 100 by ones and by tens. Practice counting from a given number.
Lesson Today will review subtraction to 10 and practice fluency. Complete pages 427 to 432 in McGraw-Hill My Math Volume 1 textbook. (I have attached the Homework page and worksheets from the textbook for students who do not have their textbooks)

Assignments have been added to Zearn and SeeSaw. Log on to Learning A to Z to complete at least 2 Head Sprout lessons. (Please be sure to complete the episodes once started. If the student exits and episode and it is not completed, it will start the student over from the beginning to next time you log on.) Continue working on assignments in Freckle and MobyMax.
