Good Morning Class: I have listed today's learning assignments below. If you experience any trouble with logging in please do not hesitate to contact me via email or my cell phone. Offline Assignments: Phonics: Create flashcards using paper or index cards for the following words: set, top, jet, Jim. Then practice blending these words. (Use arm strategy taught in class as needed.) (I have attached printable phonics word flashcards for those with access to a printer) Sight words: Create flashcards using paper or index cards for the following sight words: first, has, how. Practice the words using the Air-Writing technique today. The first step of air-writing a word is to say the word while “underlining” it, using two fingers of your right hand to trace the arrow that runs from left to right underneath the word on each flash card. Then spell the word out loud, using two fingers of your writing hand to “air-write” each letter as you say it. You will air-write the letters underneath the printed word on the flash card, but do not actually touch the flash card. After air-writing the word, say the whole word one more time, again tracing the arrow to “underline” the word from left to right. Here is a sample script for you to follow: Adult: Let’s air-write this word. I’ll go first. Ready? FIRST. F-I-R-S-T. FIRST. Again: FIRST. F-I-R-ST. FIRST. Now it’s your turn. Child: FIRST. F-I-R-S-T. FIRST. Adult: Again. Child: FIRST. F-I-R-S-T. FIRST. Adult: One more time. Child: FIRST. F-I-R-S-T. FIRST. Adult: Good job! (I have attached printable sight word flashcards for those with access to a printer) Math: Complete pages 269 to 267 in McGraw-Hill My Math Volume 1 textbook.
