Good Morning Class: Welcome to our last week of online learning. I have listed today's learning assignments below. Please login into your Seesaw account if you have not already. https://app.seesaw.me/#/student/login After today, your seesaw account is where you will find weekly learning opportunities from now on. If you experience any trouble with logging on, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or my cell phone. Offline Assignments: Phonics: Practice blending words from previous weeks. (Use arm strategy taught in class as needed.) (Printable phonics word flashcards for those with access to a printer are available on the Class Blog.) Sight words: Create flashcards using paper or index cards for the following sight words: why, four, where, show. Then practice the words using the simple See & Say technique today. The parent holds up a flash card with the new sight word and has the student repeat the word multiple times while looking at the flash card. This technique of exposing your student to the word and having them repeat the word several times is the most basic way we introduce a new sight word. It gets the child using both their visual and auditory senses. (I have attached printable sight word flashcards for those with access to a printer.)
Math: Warm Up Practice counting to 100 by ones and by tens. Practice counting from a given number.
Lesson Today we will focus on exploring and explaining decomposing of numbers 16 to 19. First review the video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYV841Iuqh4 Then, complete pages 469 to 474 in McGraw-Hill My Math Volume 1 textbook. (I have attached the Homework pages of the textbook for students who do not have their textbooks). You can use the bean provided in the take-home packet as counters or pennies from home.
Online Assignments: Assignments have been added to Zearn and SeeSaw. Log on to Learning A to Z to complete at least 2 Head Sprout lessons. (Please be sure to complete the episodes once started. If the student exits and episode and it is not completed, it will start the student over from the beginning to next time you log on.) Continue working on assignments in Freckle and MobyMax. Have a great day of learning. And I am an email, text or phone call away, if you need me.
